Over the years I have purchased several Havahart traps, and most did what they were supposed to do.

Recently, I purchased two traps for Squirrels, and one for Raccoons, and they are poorly made and do not work. I called Havahart directly and they were not helpful at all. I explained what the problems were and they suggested some jury-rigged, half hearted fix, that didn't work.

These traps are not inexpensive. I would like to send them back and get a refund as they are useless waste of money.

I borrowed an older (~ 15 years) Havahart trap from a friend and it worked so well I decided to buy my own and stepped up to the new one-hand set model. The trap seems cheap compared to the old one (no suprise really) but the trap was difficult to set. I believe this was at least partially due to it being slightly bent during shipping but it would not set reliably so I had to return it. I will be looking to buy one of the older models as they seem to be higher quality and at a lower price.
